Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian singer and songwriter from Norway. She was born in Stavanger on the 15th of June 1996. Her professional name is Aurora. Her name could be also stylized by the name AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is an album released in May 2015 from Decca Records. It has been praised by the blogs and the press. She has recorded several high-profile songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that were widely appreciated. Katy Perry, who endorsed the tune Runaway by her, has given it some more recognition. Celebrate the special occasion. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding the piano in the attic of her home, then becoming enthralled by the sound it made. Her parents May-Britt and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as an occupation or pastime but to grow. She started writing lyrics of her own. Her influences include renowned authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her love for Bjork's style. The singer decided to perform her music in public when her mother said they could help people not gain acclaim for her music, but rather to help the people around them understand their own importance and how they can affect the world. The piano was her first instrument when she was six years old and started writing music at age nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday when she shared her story with her parents. The dream was never to be Aurora. She claims that she enjoys creating songs. For her, the music she writes is the way that she feels anything.
