Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1996 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora often stylized in uppercase as AURORA is an Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of bloggers in the music industry and media. The singer has released a number of high-profile songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that were widely appreciated. The singer gained further attention from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Make it a special day for her. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is finding an old grand piano hidden in the attic. She was fascinated by its capabilities. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music, not for work or for a passion, but as an opportunity to develop. The singer began to write songs of her own. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an appreciation for the style of Bjork. Her mother was supportive of her performing her music in front of the public, but not in order to gain fame but rather to help others realize that they matter and what they can do to make a difference in the world. At age 6 she started playing the piano, and when she was nine was writing music. The fact that she was a musician wasn't known to her family until she was fourteen. The dream was never to turn into Aurora. Her sole passion is writing music. For her, the songs she creates are the way that she feels anything.
